QuestionNeed a filter for my Samsung RF28JBEDBSG fridge. Samsung's web site is confusing, in that it says the Model DA29-00020B filter is compatible with fridges thru 2015. I bought mine in late 2016. Can someone help?

- Answer Hi there! All Samsung authorized filters will have the Samsung seal either printed clearly on the filter itself or on the Yellow/Orange Neon plastic covering at the top of the filter. Hope this helps! ^Cole

Questionmodel number meaningsI have found 4 model names: HAF-SIN/XME, HAF-SIN/EXP, DA29-00020A, DA29-00020B. What are the differences between them. Do they have the same specs? If they are the same, why different names? I read some filters are "aesthetic" filters and some are "health" filters. Is it the case here?

- Answer Hi Dover, All of these filters are the same; they are compatible with the same Refrigerators and remove the same impurities. The model codes (HAF-CIN) and Samsung part #s (DA29-00020) are often tagged with a suffix for internal purposes. - Ms. Samsung

- Answer i did visit the samsung web site, but they did not list my refrigerator. I suspect because it is a new model. RF22R7351DT/AA.

- Answer I am sold on the Samsung filter, I tried to save money and got the cheaper brand till I saw black carbon particles in my ice cubes so all I get now is the Samsung brand .

- Answer I buy the name brand which matches my refrigerator. I believe you get what you pay for and don't buy generic. Buy the Samsung brand filter. It's very easy to install.

QuestionHAF-CIN/XME vs HAF-CIN/EXPI have a model RFG293HARS refrigerator with the original HAF-CIN/XME water filter. Although everyone is telling me that the HAF-CIN/EXP (which, apparently, is the only model sold now) is the same thing, but it is not. The XME has a recessed top and the EXP has a flush top. The EXP will NOT go into my refrigerator. Has Samsung just decided to sacrifice customers who bought models needing the XME or is there a replacement filter available? I have attached photos of the tops of the two models.

QuestionMy filter says da29-00020b-1. Is that the same as da29-00020b? I cannot find da29-00020b-1 anywhere.

- Answer These parts are clearly different. The hole diameters on the supplied 00020b model clearly is smaller than the -1 variety. I have purchased two sets off of Amazon from different vendors, and while the BODY is the same, the hole is different. If you try to use the 00020b on the -1, it will break the pin. Samsung is not aware of this minor issue. I spent 3 hours talking to them, and they stated to me that they do not even HAVE a -1 variant. This is really a problem.

- Answer Hi AN, the water filter can be found in 2 different locations: Front and center between the crisper drawers or in the back upper right corner of the refrigerator. If you do not find a filter in one of the following locations, the refrigerator does not have a filter. ^Rosi
