Hello Map - Yes. To reset the WP-861: unplug the unit, remove the brush handle, hold the mode button for 30 seconds, plug it back in, place the handle on the charging stand, and charge for 24 hours. Not having any problems with mines yet.   Although i travel alot.  Some this home unit gets less than average wear and tear
