Q: QuestionSomeone can help please? 1) does this SSD have Heat Sink? WD explicitly sells a version with and a version without Heat Sink on their website. unclear here 2) would work with a Alienware Aurora R10? I have '256GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD' already in the system
Asked by landar87.
- A:Answer 1- The version pictured on the website with a heat sink is a special edition version and has it's own part number. The version Best Buy sells does not have the heat sink. The heat sink version was not released at the same time and may not be available for purchase yet as it was scheduled to be released by the end of January 2021. 2-The drive should be compatible with your system, but because your system is based on a B550 chipset, it's important to ensure that this drive is in a PCIE 4 NVME slot or you won't get the expected performance. You may have to move (or remove) the existing drive to ensure you're getting the performance you're paying for.

Q: QuestionIs this compatible with the PS5?
Asked by John.
- A:Answer Hi John, Please be informed “Based on Sony’s published requirements, we can confirm our WD_BLACK SN850 NVMe SSD with Heatsink (500GB-2TB) meets the stated requirements to expand console storage on the PlayStation 5 for those with access to the PlayStation 5 Beta software. Compatibility testing is in progress.” We will upgrade that to yes it works once we are able to complete compatibility testing. It is important to not push non-heatsink since Sony specified heatsink version.

Asked by Rodalberto99.
- A:Answer Hello Rodalberto99, Please be informed that the WD_BLACK SN850 SSD comes in two variants with heatsink. Long load times are obsolete with next-gen PCIe Gen4 technology, reaching irrational read/write speeds up to 7000/5300MB/s**. Arm your system with RGB lighting, an optional heatsink model. Q: QuestionIs it 100% compatible this 2tb ssd for PS5?
Asked by Slbico.
- A:Answer 100%, so far anyways. The WD Black was recommended by Mark Cerny. I did a lot of research as well and went with this one, the only other option I'd recommend would be Samsungs 980pro. Keep in mind this does not have the heatsinks which are recommended/required.
