Yes, if it uses a hard drive, many cheap laptops these days use emmc as boot drives. The system settings in control panel will tell you what you have.

If your computer is not very old, it more than likely is a SATA type. Google hard drive types, SATA, and check the interface connection to verify that this connection is the same as yours. The other type of drive is IDE, a different connection type and not interchangeable with SATA.

However some smaller laptops/notebooks use slim form factor drives or solid state drives. There are a lot of models of the HP 14 so knowing what exact model you have will be important (ex: HP 14 ****-****). If it does need a slim or solid state drive this may be too thick to work. (slim drives are 7mm and standard are 9mm. Lastly, if it's super thin it may use a "msata" drive (smaller than even the 7mm and using a different connector entirely). Look up replacement drives for your exact model or look up a spec sheet someplace like Cnet.com and see what it used. If you're inexperienced with installation buy the drive and have a local repair shop install it. Best of luck Inferno
