• not shock proof lit "Otter box" products, but It has always served my needs and offers a bit of protection with its semi-hard shell and snug fit on the interior.

• It's not shock proof certified. If you are worried about drops, invest in a more expensive drop-proof hard drive. $+certifications=safety when it comes to hard drives.

• I've dropped these from 3 feet for sure on numerous occasions, and the drives suffered NO malfunction or physical dings to the unit.
