• I would encrypt it with BitLocker (Windows 10), if needed. I am using BitLocker on other hard drives and it is very easy to set up and use.

• The Easystore line does not support hardware encryption (so no password protection out of the box), but you're always free to use software encryption. The My Passport line supports hardware encryption.
