People on reddit.com/r/DataHoarder are saying that the drives are helium filled WD White drives
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They used to be Red drives. Too many people were shucking these and selling the drive on Ebay for $300. So WD now puts White labels on these drives. They have identical specs and performance to the Red drives. Just the label is a different color. Helium filled, 256 meg cache, etc.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.white. shucked the drive and put in my computer. works great.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe it is the Red Hard Drives, just unbranded... Looked it up in a review...
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's a white drive. Jury is out whether whites are rebadged reds or not. But many still have success with this drive. It does potentially have compatibility issues if you are looking to shuck the drive however.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not technically. Newer models of this unit have "white label" drives, which many believe are Red-like.
