It is believed that you can connect maximum two additional external hard drives which can have a maximum storage capacity of 16 terabytes. This means that the storage in both of the external hard drives when summed up should not exceed the limit of 16 terabytes. From personal experience, the Xbox 360 has an external HD limit of 1 Tb.

I've used WD HDds (4TB & 3T) in the past and they worked fine. Honestly, if your network bandwidth isn't a problem, just download the games that you're currently playing and keep the other ones off the internal Xbox. Use the external drive to download and hold the games you're not playing, and then copy and transfer them over when you are ready to play them to the internal drive. Here is one of my sources, and I know firsthand that Western Digital does work with Xbox. hddmag(dot)com/xbox-ones-external-hard-drive-limit/...... Obviously I had to change the format of the address, but you can figure it out :) and this price rocks at Best buy!
