I don't know which one is the newer one. The WDBAJN0010BBK-WESN costs almost double what the WDBDNK0010BBK-WESN one does. According to Best Buy's website, the WDBDNK0010BBK-WESN has data encryption while the other one does not. If for some reason you have a drive that is about to die, most data recovery professionals will tell you that a drive with no encryption's data is easier to recover. I don't know if that explains the price difference or perhaps the hardware on the WDBAJN0010BBK-WESN is better than the other one?
