• No, the WD easystore external drive will not work for this purpose. You would need to add software, an executable file, to the drive, but would have no way to launch and manage the files to be played.

• My vehicle (Toyota Sienna) DID NOT recognize this device as a USB audio source. I think you would have to somehow format the SSD to perform as a portable music player and then it may work. However, that sounds more complicated than just buying a portable mp3 player or using your phone.
