remove the formating from the drive using the custom install tab when installing windows and let windows format it.

You need at least 2 partitions for it to work, and if you used up all the space with your one NTFS partition, you can’t install, for example, the boot/EFI partition that is required. Select advanced, delete all partitions, and select the blank space for Windows to partition automatically.
