Not unless you are using it as a secondary drive with a USB to SATA adapter. MacBook Air's use built in drives that are not compatible with this drive for installing internally.

Apple doesn't like it when you try improve their products without having bought a new product at significant markup for the name. But seriously just make sure your MacAir even has sata drive otherwise you are wasting your time with an sata ssd. If so you can format the drive to any file system. just clone your main drive and swap.
