• Yes, any HDD can be. Windows uses NTFS able iOS uses HFS for HDD format. However a HDD can be formatted into exFAT and then both operating systems would function with the HDD.

• Yes. I use mine for music. I am a DJ, and primarily use a Mac. However, I sometimes can get some files arranged at work on the PC. To answer your question, I formatted the drive in the FAT32 format. It allows me to interchange between a Mac & PC. Hope that helps.
