3 TB is a LOT of space - probably more storage than your computer has. Look at the "get info" or however you do it on Windows to determine how much space the directories (folders) containing your stuff are using. That will answer your question.

I've backed up my entire machine and have done several incremental backups and I've only used 400MB. There's no way to know how much data you need with 'lots of pictures' but this drive will hold a LOT of data.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Eva, while this is a good one, you might consider an even larger storage capacity if you have a very large amount of data. This whole WD brand line of Easystore is rated well. I have one of these for a laptop and a larger AC powered 8 TB WD Easystore for my main system. Better to go with a bigger storage capacity if you are unsure. None of them are super expensive and they often go on sale.
