“We have to have our satellite equipment updated & have DVR’d a lot of programming we want to save. We were advised by DISH to get an external hard drive & copy the saved programs to that. Can we do that with this piece of equipment?”

• If DISH allows you to do this then these external drives are perfect (I have 2 of them). Xfinity does not allow customers to record stored DVR recordings.

• Yes was long as the DVR can support USB3

• yes you can. You will need something like a USB-Live2 connector to connect to your DVR to your computer and then have the movies save to this external hard drive.
