You should have no issues backing up the entire system. We use it on 10, XP, 8, and 7 without problems.

I have no idea if it will work on Windows XP, as the tech specs state Windows 7 or later. However it is backwards compatible to USB 2.0 Microsoft office can only be installed from original media, not the files installed on your computer, so unless you have that MSI, the answer is no.

You should be able to transfer all of your files. You would need software like Norton Ghost if you want to create a system image file, but these files should also transfer to the portable drive.

Quick answer is yes you can transfer your files as long as it doesn't exceed disk space of the external hardrive.
No on the Microsoft Office.

You would have to verify how many MB are on your computer and match to the external your moving your data to. If you purchase an External with 3 or 4 terabytes you'll have plenty of space.
