• Works with USB 2. Can’t see why it would not work with Windows 7 if formatted correctly ( think it comes windows formatted)

• Yes, this is backwards compatible with Windows 7 and USB 2.0, I have used this and other 3.0 and 3.1 drives on 2.0 equipped only computers that are almost a decade old and they work fine.
