A:Answer Wow... If Western Digital does not know if, or if not this device includes 512-byte emulation (512e) for backward compatibility, how on earth will anyone else know without buying the drive, attempting to format with the WD_Quck_Formatter software while checking the "XP Compatible" box, and then knowing they will either keep the drive or return it?
Some reports say that 3.7% of computers are still running Windows XP. You would think WD would be a bit more interested in this market.
