It does not have an Ethernet port but can be plugged into a USB enabled Router to share over the Local Network/ Internet using appropriate software.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This drive by itself cannot performed the function you need. You would need a NAS or a PC that you can remote into. This is just an external hard drive without any advanced functions. If you want to try a NAS or Remote PC option it is not difficult, but it would be more than this forum. For example, I have a machine that is always on, this is a lightweight, low powered machine, it can run torrent, browsers, and jdownloader. It have multiple external drivers attached. I use google remote desktop to login, and do what I need. It works great. Google remote desktop is super easy.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, it's just storage, it doesn't have any smarts. If you plugged it in to a NAS or a PC, those machines could do the downloading/uploading and store the files on the drive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, this product requires a connection to a computer to use as storage.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not by itself (you can do it through a computer connected to the internet with the proper software but not by itself). Western Digital has a large line of hard drives named "WD My Cloud" that do support the hard drive being connected to the internet for 'cloud' access without having to go through a computer (though you do have to use a computer to set up the drive for internet access). These Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices connect to your home or business network and connect to the internet through your home/business internet connection. Read up on the My Cloud features to see if this is what you're looking for.
