Googe "WD clicking sound" - I found that my USB extension didn't have enough power. But, usually when I hear that sound, I make sure every thing is backed up as worst case scenario, the Hard Drive is about to have issues or go out. And usually I just end up replacing it if I can't get the sound to stop.
