Yes, this external USB hard drive is compatible with Windows 10 operating system.

Yes this will work in Win10. You will have to download Acronis True Image from WD's website if you want to create an image backup of your system. You can't use Win10's imaging software (that came from Win7). The install is transparent. You will have to choose to use Win10's History function or the WD backup software. I use the HIstory feature instead of the WD software and the Acronis for an image.
