- Answer Yes it will easily work with any Apple any up to date version. I got one for Time Machine and did not reformat it because it works for both Apple and Windows. 3 TB will go a long way for you and it is better than those small portable HDs because this needs to be on everyday to be backed up.

- Answer I found out the hard way this will not work. As of 7/22/2018 Dish has an upper limit of 2TB on external hard drives.

- Answer Yes external power supply, yes physical standard drive, not flash memory, and yes USB 2.0 compatible interface and cord supplied. USB 3.0 supported as long as the port Your plugged into on PC is 3.0.

- Answer No. Something like a file system format change would be well publicized and only implemented in a major version update. But even then, MacOS is very good about recognizing all sorts of file systems, including legacy versions.

QuestionI have a 1TB unit that I use to record Dish Network programming. Is the 4TB unit compatible with Dish also and if so, that means 4 times the storage that I have with the 1TB correct?

- Answer If you have the Dish network Hopper 3, you can use this drive. The earlier models are limited to 2 TB.

QuestionCan I transfer Dish movies that were recovered from a damaged external drive to a 5 TB Seagate that is not recognized by my Hopper 3 to this properly formatted drive? I can do this transfer through my MAC G5 correct? Thanks
