Had the same problem with a ASUS desktop . I opened the BOIs and checked my boot settings .. The internal drive was set first followed by the DVD drive then the external drives ... I reset the boot to first DVD drive then internal drive then external drive and it worked for me .. you might try this fix on your problem ..
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I hope you have it working, but if not, the problem is that your PC is attempting to boot off the external hard drive. HelpDeskGeek has a guide called “Unable to Boot Windows with External Hard Drive Attached?”- you may need to work through the steps before it works. I had the same problem, but I can’t remember exactly how I fixed it- I may have plugged it into my PC after starting it, and then setting it up fixed the issue.
