I don't think you can. You can attach an external drive to the usb port on the my cloud but it only can be used to backup what is on the internal drive.

I believe you can connect a USB hard drive to the unit unit via the USB port for additional storage.

Yes you can. Their are instruction with the unit that explain the process.

I don't see why not. Your 2TB and 8TB drives would have different drive IDs [for example, drive E: and drive F:] but you can copy data from one to the other or access data stored on EITHER by plugging the 2TB into the HUB on the 8TB and connecting the 8TB to a USB port on your computer. I have two 8TB external drives connected this way and it works out perfectly for me.
