“Are the files encrypted?”

• You can encrypt the files, either with an application they have or other such utilities. However, when you do that, you *may* limit yourself in some of the online cloud access to your files. I just haven't tried that yet.

• It appears that the communication between your device and WD Cloud are encrypted using SSL, which means, communication to your WD My Cloud are encrypted just like an HTTPS connection. But as for the files themselves you would need to encrypt them.
