You can view all the files as a mapped drive to your Windows PC. You can also go to your start menu and type "\\wdmycloud" and it should bring up the NAS using Windows Explorer. If you can figure out the IP address to the device you can also type "\\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" where the X's are the IP address to the device. E.G. 192.168.0.100 You can map either of these as a network location under This PC by clicking on Map a Network Drive, use a drive letter not already in use, and then type the location name. E.G. You have the WD MyCloud NAS setup with a folder called "Home". You would enter "\\wdmycloud\home" as the network location. Hopefully this will help or maybe it is already to late. Either way. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.the web interface is for configuring and updating the device itself. To access it as a file server from Windows, use the name that you see for the device. it is easiest to make a shortcut to it directly: right click on the desktop, select New / Shortcut type in the device name like this - \\MyCloud the click the Browse button and find the folder you want direct access to, click OK, then Next, rename it if you want, then click Finish.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you can. This is exactly how I use it. You can browse to its network location in Windows Explorer, and you can map a drive letter to it and use it as a remote drive if you'd like.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes the drive can be mapped like any other drive. Just give it a network name that is consistent with the name of the computers on that given network.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. At least with the older version, the MyBook Live, it is visible in Windows Explorer as a network device, but only if you are connected to the network to which the drive is attached.
