• Yes, you can backup your files to the device. A caveat: a corporate cloud will have its own backup systems so any hardware failures on it would be automatically protected. Your WD device only has one drive. If (when?) It fails, you'll be out of luck. For better security consider the duo version. This has 2 drives which can be configured as RAID1 (one drive mirrors the other one) so a single drive failure would not be catastrophic.
