“Can I use this as an external storage cloud, that would replace me having to use a flash drive to keep saving files when I work on different computers? Tired of having to save to a jump drive just to work on the same file on different computers!”

Yes you can. I have it configured at my home connected directly to my Wi-Fi Router and any of the 4 laptops at home can save or retrieve from it and I also have the ability to connect to it from work over the internet and retrieve or save files to it. I believe it will work the same way for smart phones and tablets.
