No, this can be plugged in and used directly on a Windows 7 / 8 / 10 PC that has a USB 2 or 3 port.

Not in Windows. Just plug it in and Windows will detect it and show it as a drive in Windows Explorer.

No extra cables required, just plug the WD 4TB into your USB-3 socket and use right out of the box!

No, your laptop should recognize it shortly after you plug it in to the USB jack. It will appear in your files folder as "My Passport" and you can easily transfer files or folders there for storage.
