• Check under Disk management whether the WD HDD is shown as unknown. If so assign Drive letter to it. Otherwise like in my case, in Old Laptop USB port was not supplying enough power. Often it disconnected or doesn't recognized. You will have to buy Y-Cable that will deliver additional power through USB port. So one port for data transfer and another for power.
