If your able to read it. It does come with an install program if your drivers do not work well with it! I have an older computer an was able to read it, but could not write to it. Once the install program updated the drivers for it, it work just fine!

Such causes include the faulty USB port of the drive or the computer, faulty USB cable of the drive or the drive itself may not be getting enough power to spin up and register on the computer to show up.
