It is so easy to set up , just hook it up and then go to settings and click on devices , add device and follow instructions , be careful when removing the external storage you must go to settings and remove device before physically removing it

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It is really easy to set up... Once connected, go to settings, then drives: 1. Connect your external USB 3.0 drive to one of the USB 3.0 ports on the Xbox One, and plug in the AC power for the external drive if applicable. 2. Do step 3 or step 4 below for how you want to set up the external drive on Xbox One. 3. When you connect a compatible external storage drive, Xbox One will prompt you to format the drive. 4. If you cancel the format when you connect the storage device, you can still manually set it up as a storage device. A) Scroll left from the Home screen to open the guide, select Settings, and select All settings. B) Select System on the left, and select Storage. C) Select the external storage device you connected from step 1. D) Select Format for games & apps, and go to step 5 below. 5. Select Format storage device. 6. Enter a name (ex: "External USB") you want for the external storage device. 7. Select Install new things here. 8. Select Format storage device. 9. When finished formatting, your external storage drive will now be ready to copy, move, and install games and apps on.

Please try again later.For the Xbox as soon as you plug it in it ask you what do you want to do Media or external storage just answer the question and it does the rest itself for the PS4 you just have to go into settings devices and then find the drive and formatted for the PS4 unfortunately it doesn't do it itself you have to tell it but once it does easy as pie and it works great I have external drive on both my systems Xbox x and PS4 Pro
