“Will this unit work connected to a computer running on linux (ubuntu)?”

• This unit is formatted in NTFS which is the Windows partition format. Ubuntu can read NTFS but Windows cannot read the Linux partition format. I don't think the software that comes preinstalled on this drive will function with Ubuntu but you can probably find some other software to backup data for you. • Yes it can most boxes will not label the operating system Linux but there are ways to configure to your system just do a internet search on this and will find answers
