Small size fits in your pocket or bag. Quiet but exceptional large capacity low power USB port powdered. For the price of a few much smaller gigabyte thumb drives get the speed of USB 3.0 and the reliability of WD Technology. I use them with my Tablo TV to record OTA programs to watch at my leisure.

Small enough to carry in a purse and yet large enough in capacity to back up several computers with plenty of files for photos, videos, etc.

Replacing my previous portable hard drive with this product was wonderful as I was able to move all of my files to this one. It is very lightweight and easy for me to carry on trips and to meetings.

Bought this for my Xbox One because it kept running out of internal space. Very fast read and write speed. Keeps the heat down from the Xbox One.

This product does everything extremely well. If you want to have automated backup, there is software to do that. If you want to do manual backup, it is simply another disk drive on your system (for copying files). It has tremendous capacity (2TB = 2,000 GB) and it is fast with the USB 3.0 interface. What else could you look for in a backup drive?

I used this in combination with the WD MyCloud 2TB NAS to run a backup of the NAS and it worked great. It is small and easy to pair with the MyCloud system for a triple backup system.

I use this to hold all of my PC Games and their respective game libraries. I simply plug this into my Surface Pro 4 and run them straight from the passport itself. With USB 3.0 speeds, the games run really well despite being on an external drive.

4 stars because I'm only buying this to replace my previous Western Digital Drive that stopped backing up my computer. The original drive doesn't seem damaged it just stopped working. So, no Drive failures but not excellent longevity.

Dissapointing this does not work with most computers using the usb 2.0 port.

I will say this much, If you need extra storage, thats light and easily accessible, this is it. I used it for my Xbox One because as we all know, their is just never enough space. Well, I chose this because from what I read, it was easy enough, and just to continue with that, I will agree. You just plug in, format based on your usage, and then you're good to go. There is a blinking light I found quite annoying, but the simple fix is just to turn it around. I also like the way the black looks with my entertainment system. All in all, after the firmware you get about 1.8TBs and I couldn't be happier with my choice.

I bought this for a friend who's computer skills are nominal even though she works from her computer most of the day, and has been at a loss to keep up on her work when she can't get to her computer (weather, doctor's visits, etc.). She loves the ease of plug 'n play and that she has lots of space for all of her work to travel with her, including her saved emails. I've been a big fan of Western Digital's My Passport line for a long time. I've been using the WD portable external drives for about 15 years and have never had one crash - something I can't say about other brands I've had. Regardless of the "great deals" I see offered, I will stick with WD drives.

Recently bought this when it was on sale for $64.99, and it was well worth it. I have an Xbox One whose internal hard drive I maxed out, so I needed extra storage. This unit is a really good choice - it's incredibly small (slightly larger than my wallet), so it won't take up space and is easily transported elsewhere. It's also very quiet, doesn't need a separate power cord, and for the price, you'll get ~1.8TB of storage capacity (yeah, it's not quite 2TB, but that's the norm due to technical reasons). Only complaint is the semi-annoying blinking white light on the back when it's plugged in, but otherwise, this thing is a great option for anyone needing a large amount of portable storage. Definitely worth getting, especially if it ever goes on sale again.

I bought this item to be used with my XBox One as extended memory. It works great, my console recognized it right away. I had to format it before use, amd now I use it for all my game apps and game saves. Similar item in gaming section, but $20 dollars more, works just the same.

I bought this for my laptop and i was uncertain whether to by a 1 tb or higher. I decided to go with this one and after all the pictures and files, i still haven't touched the 1/4 of the storage. So yes.... It stores and opens quickly. I love the fact i can plug up on one computer, then go to another like its nothing. Im glad i chose this over the thumb drive for durability and less likeliness of misplacing it. The cost was another great factor.

I love the fact that you can fit 2 TB of data in the palm of your hand. The hard drive was easy to connect to my laptop. It provides plenty of space. I love the fact that it only needs a single cable to connect unlike the hard drives many years ago. Transfer over USB 3.0 is so much faster than the older USB 2.0 hard drives. I would definitely recommend spending a little bit more money and getting this 2TB drive over the 1TB hard drive.

I bought this drive to expand the amount of space available for my system back-up(s). I purchased a 1TB WD Slim drive 2 years ago so I was familiar with WD drives & software. I also knew that WD has a pretty straight forward UI for their built in back-up software & cloud options. In my opinion WD drives have proven to be very easy to use & reliable. I would suggest any of their products to anyone looking for more storage space.

It works exactly how it should work. There isn't too much to say about the storage and usb (2gb and usb 3.0/2.0), those are pretty given. I did not use the backing up feature, so no comment on that. It is very portable and convenient. The weight is just about right, so it doesn't feel fragile (not heavy and not too light).

I bought it to add memory to my x-box one and it was easy to connect and work so simple a baby can use it . does not take up any space at all and reliable.
