• It comes formatted for NtFS which is used for Windows machines, however I see no reason why you can't reformat it for an Apple OS. It does come with an installer for Apple, so presumably you may not have to reformat it if your machine can read/write to the NTFS drive.

• Yes, but the drive would require re-formatting. If you are not comfortable doing that, just buy the Mac version of the drive.

• If you have the USB to Thunderbolt cable it should work fine if the drive is formatted to work with Mac. If not you will need to reformat the drive using disk utility.
