• Warranty is USA only.

• I sell products to a company in Sri Lanka from time to time and products purchased and shipped from US to another country do not carry warranty. I would recommend checking directly with WD. You may be able to override that by purchasing geek squad protection instead but would also check with Best Buy on coverage.

• the question is where you are right now. if you are in the US, yes you can contact the US office, but if you are back in india, you should contact the india branch because sometimes even if you have international warranty, there is a possibility that they do not honor them. i hope this would help.
