• Yes, the weBoost Drive X will work to strengthen your hot spot from your cell phone. Reminder, a booster doesn’t create cell signal. It picks up the outside cell signal (no matter how weak) and amplifies it inside your vehicle for better talk, text, and data.

• There needs to be at least some signal for it to boost it. It can’t get you signal where is is none to begin with

• Yes, I've used this in a few areas where it has successfully boosted the signal by at least 1-3 bars and I've used my iPad as a hotspot. There have been some areas though where there is absolutely no signal and the booster cannot pick up anything.
