We used to have to keep our cell phones propped inside a window to get phone reception and 1X data. With the booster, we have phone reception inside the house and fairly decent 4G data. We don't get the 1500 sq ft coverage advertised but it is good for a couple of rooms. I would guess it is returnable as long as it is clean, neatly returned in the same packaging, and within the time allowed. You'd have to inquire at the store or with customer service.
