Yes. But it is not for a dimming lamp. It will take u the whoe receptical however. I remedy this by plugging it into a 1' (12 inch) extension cord that i plugged into the outlet.

This may be a little overkill for a lamp and be better used on an energy hoarding space heater or window AC or maybe a halogen if used on a lamp. This device can monitor energy usage and follow rules based on the watts or time used. For everyday cfl and led lamps, you may checkout the wemo mini plug and save some $. Control from your phone is a cinch. Setup isn't bad, isn't great. Android control is smooth and FAST. Expect a device firmware update automatically at first install, it will take a few minutes. I can't vouch for ios. I'm "i-Phobic"
