I wouldn't cause I don't believe they will with stand the elements of outdoors for too long.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use a WeMo insight switch on my block heater on my Kubota. It works well. To be safe, I also created a little pigtail power cord with an in-line fuse that was rated the same as my block heater power cord. I did that after witnessing my block heater cord go up in flames (completely unrelated to WeMo) one day after the block heater had shorted internally. I also added a little power plug that glows when energized so I can easily visually confirm if the circuit is energized between the pigtail (fuse) and the block heater. Just today, I set up WeMo alerts for when the block heater is turned on or off...I have it alert me every hour when it is on and only once when it is off. Be sure to check the power rating on the WeMo and your block heater to be sure the WeMo can handle the amps you need. My block heater has a 16 gauge cord which I believe has a 10 amp rating, so the WeMo was fine for that load. I’m not familiar with the VIVINT system, so I can’t comment on that,
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't see why it wouldn't work with a block heater.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Two questions here. I can answer the first. No. It really should be for indoor use.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can, but I wouldn't recommend it. As far as I can tell this is meant to be an indoor only switch. Using it outside could cause problems and possibly damage to the unit.
