• Yes, this unit is 1 device and only 1 power cord can be plugged into it. So you need a wemo for each outlet you want to control.

• These plug into an outlet. Whatever plugs into that outlet is what will be controlled by the switch. Could be a lamp, a fan, or a power strip, as long as it normally plugs into an outlet.

• Yes. You will need to use an extension cord to operate multiple devices. Or, you will need a separate switch for each device you want to remotely control.

• If you want to control one lamp in each room then Yes. I use mine (3) around the house i.e.. Outside ton control the christmas lights and inside to control a lamp when I am on vacation in the random mode. They also make a switch that you replace your wall switch with that is wifi as well.
