No, it didn't work for me. My window A/C is rated at 15 amps and when I plug the A/C it id didn't even power on. I'm not an electrician but I will assume that even though the A/C is rated at 15 amps it most likely draws more than that when it kicks on therefore the wemo cannot handle it.

Yes, but your AC must restart after a power loss on its own. Simple way to test, have your ac on, pull the plug wait a minute and plug back in. If the ac turns back on without you pressing the on button your good to go. Where this is a neat idea, becarful not to cycle the unit on and off with in minutes of each other to often or you may damage the ac unit compressor.

Before you try it, find out how many amps you a/c unit pulls!! Anymore than 15amps and it will not work.

Leave the AC on and let the switch handle everything. You can set the time to turn on/off, and even the duration that it stays on.
