No you do not, the TV automatically scans for stations. We use an antenna but you can scan for cable stations also.

If you mean "digital television receiver", then no you don't need one since there is one built in. If you mean "cable television receiver", then no you don't need one since there is one built in. If you equate a "receiver" with a stereo amplifier, then no you don't need one since there are built in speakers but in my opinion you will want one since the internal speakers are inadequate. If you mean "satellite television receiver", then yes you need one. If you mean "streaming video receiver" like a FireTV stick, then yes you need one since this is not a "smart" TV.
