Slapshot, it would be your viewing preference, the spine provides two height options for the TV set, the overall height of 55.75" is with the swivel in the highest position and this is to the tip of the monitor brackets which need to be centered on the back of your television. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I do not believe this unit swivels. At least the one I purchased does not. If you set the TV on the top shelf you can move it manually, but not like a swivel wall mount would allow. Maybe another model does this.
