He wouldn't have had this problem if you had listed the shelves' clearance! Why on earth virtually no body does this? I've been looking for a TV table, every where the dimensions provided are, at best, incomplete. Begin thinking as a costumer. Having Q&As isn't an excuse of not providing ALL information pertinent to the (intended by the manufacturer) use of the product.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The glass is thick and strong but rests on suction cups inserted into metal tabs in the shelf frame. 54 lbs in one spot is a lot. It will crush the suction cups possibly, eventually breaking through until the glass is resting on metal at which point an impact could break it. you could maybe make the equivalent of a gasket to run the full surface area to absorb weight.
