• Yes it will hold a 50” tv and is rated for 250 lbs.

• I just purchased the Whalen BBXL54NV stand last week along with a LG 65NANO90 TV and it makes a very clean installation straight out of the box. The TV is mounted on the post leaving top shelf clear for the sound bar. Cables were kept mostly out of sight using the builtin cable management system. VERY pleased with the stand.
