• Yes. It is optional. I set it up with out the mount sticking up past the top glass. They give you a cap for the channel that is behind the stand and it is flush with the top of the stand.

• If you meant the wall type mount then the answer is yes. That's how I have mine set up. The TV sits directly on the top shelf with nothing behind it.

• Yes - the mount is optional - you can set the tv on the stand and not use the bar at all.

• No, the stick holding the mount may be visible if you dont mount the tv. Can work if the TV has higher stands
