“Does this model have the same plastic door switches that model #WMH53520CS has, that failed after less than a year and a half?? Or will this one only last that long too? Please tell me that this issue has been resolved!!!”

I have no idea what kind of plastic door latches that particular model you mentioned had. This new model does have plastic door latches, though. Your question could be better answered by the manufacturer if they care to respond. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.
