QuestionMinimum clearance from top of gas cook top and bottom of WHM53521HB model? Currently have a fan hood in place that is vented to the exterior. Do I need an adapter to vent to that exterior vent? Thanks Clint

- Answer Not a pro at all with this kind of stuff, but I think I can help: We just installed ours a couple of weeks ago (super easy, don’t waste your money to have someone else do it - You Tube video worked just fine. Just have another set of hands around for the mounting). I believe it is a standard 60” clearance, but all are built to the same specs so if you have one currently, this one will be fine in that spot. The unit itself has everything you need for venting. Just a couple of extra steps to switch the blower from standard to external. Looked super easy in that respect as well.

QuestionHow loud is the exhaust fan? Is it similar to LG ExtendaVent 2.0? I want to replace my old Whirpool microwave because of the fan noise. Could you provide noise measurements?

- Answer The exhaust fan is much quieter than the fan on my old microwave, which I hated to use because it was so loud. The fan has 4 speeds; I can barely hear low at all, it is so low, in fact, I wasn't sure it was running until I turned it off. (I wasn't actually using it at the time, only testing it for this question.) The fan also works much better than my old one did, even on the lower speeds. You can see the steam being pulled up into it.

- Answer Hi Grammi3, the WMH53521HZ depth does not include the handle. the 16 3/4" is between the door and the rear of the Microwave cabinet only

- Answer I recall that they mention $199 for that, but you should ask at a Best Buy store because any electrical work may cost more. My 2.1 cu ft oven did fit in that standard oven-size cabinet space but you need to see the dimensions listed on the Best Buy website for your oven to be sure.

QuestionThere seems to be some confusion whether or not the wmh 53521 hw has the quick cook method where I just press the #1 key and it cooks for 1 minute etc.. Some previous answers say YES... but others say NO. My current microwave, (G.E.) has this feature.

- Answer No confusion as it does not have it. To cook for 1 minute you push 1:00 and 2 for 2 etc, It’s not too bad, you get used to it.

QuestionDoes this model have the same plastic door switches that model #WMH53520CS has, that failed after less than a year and a half?? Or will this one only last that long too? Please tell me that this issue has been resolved!!!

- Answer I have no idea what kind of plastic door latches that particular model you mentioned had. This new model does have plastic door latches, though. Your question could be better answered by the manufacturer if they care to respond. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.
