Ours ran a lot at first as well, but slowed down a little after it cooled off.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Thanks for your answers to the question. When it was making this rackety noise, I opened the door. The noise stopped. When I closed the door again, the noise started. I figured the only thing That starts and stops with the door opening would be the icemaker. The water lines had not been installed yet. The icemaker was turned on and it wasn't getting any water. I shut the icemaker off on the control panel. Now it's running perfectly. It doesn't make any strange noises and it runs very quietly. Plus it doesn't run very much at all. It is one beautiful refrigerator.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is quiter than our last refrigerator. The clunking is prob the ice dropping if you are using a lot of ice then could be it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. That doesn't sound right. I've had my unit for a month and it hardly ever makes a noise. The clunking sound COULD be ice dropping into the dispenser but even with that noise our fridge is mostly silent. Even when the fan is blowing it's not very loud, hardly noticeable. It could be a bad install or a defective unit.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would think you might want to call..... especially with the clunking noise. Ours you can barely hear running even standing next to it, and it turns on and off like a normal refrigerator.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have an earlier model and the compressor was very quiet but also ran constantly. Guess what? After two years, it has died. I hope you bought an extended warranty. If not, run - don't walk - to the Whirlpool site and get one before it's too late.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It takes several days to fill empty ice bin, so it runs more till temp is stabilized.Ice maker cycles are are a bit loud.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. That noise you are refering to is the ice maker. It shoots waters to the ice maker container and it makes this funny noise every 30 min or every hours. You can shut off the ice making capability and it will be quiet but it won't make any ice!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Dear Customer: Our new refrigerators will run longer than our old ones, due to their high efficiency motors. You may also expect the motor to run longer under warm conditions. At normal room temperatures, expect your motor to run about 40% to 80% of the time. Under warmer conditions, expect it to run even more of the time. For your convenience, if needed, we have product troubleshooting available at Whirlpool.com/Owner_Center under Product Help. For further assistance please call our Customer Support line 800-253-1301. Thank you for your inquiry regarding our Whirlpool appliances!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It may be an issue with the current settings for the refrigerator. I recommend lowering the temperature if the setting is too high. Otherwise, you may consider contacting the manufacturer directly to see if it is a serious issue with the unit.
